Dragon Bridge Da Nang 2026: Fire Show Times, Best Seats & What to Expect

Dragon Bridge Da Nang lit up at night, seen from Dragon Ball Rooftop above the Sơn Trà night market

The Dragon Bridge is the one night out in Da Nang everyone asks about. We watched the fire and water show on a Friday from a rooftop bar right next to the Sơn Trà night market, and it was a great way to spend a night in Da Nang. Here's what to expect, where to sit, and how to get home afterwards without the headache we had.

Dragon Bridge show times

The Dragon Bridge (Cầu Rồng) is a 666 m road bridge built as a golden dragon, with its head on the Sơn Trà side facing the sea. It's lit up in changing colours every night, but the main event is the weekend show:

  • When: Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 21:00 (9 PM), plus major public holidays
  • How long: about 15 minutes
  • What happens: the dragon breathes fire, then water. Two rounds of fire, then three rounds of water.
  • Cancellations: weather or maintenance can cancel it, so have a backup plan for the night

If you're only in town on a weeknight, it's still worth seeing the bridge lit up. But if you can, plan one of your nights around Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

Where to watch: the best viewpoints

You have three options:

  • The Sơn Trà bank, near the dragon's head: the closest view. The water spray reaches people standing near the head, so stand back if you have a camera or a phone you care about.
  • The Hải Châu riverside (Bạch Đằng): across the river, with a view of the whole bridge.
  • From the water: evening Han River cruises are about 150,000 VND for adults and about 100,000 VND for children, and some time their run with the show.

Our pick: Dragon Ball Rooftop

We watched from Dragon Ball Rooftop, on the east (Sơn Trà) bank near Trần Hưng Đạo, right next to the Sơn Trà night market (Chợ Đêm Sơn Trà). It has about 4.2 stars from 500+ reviews on Google Maps (October 2026), and the price range is roughly 100,000–400,000 VND.

Our view from Dragon Ball Rooftop on show night: the bridge, the night market lights, and the parking-lot mayhem below.

Why we liked it:

  • The view. You're up above the crowd, looking straight at the bridge. It's a great place to watch it.
  • The people. It's a social spot. We met new friends there, which is half the fun of a night like this.
  • The after-show. Once the show ended, watching the mayhem in the parking lot below was entertaining in its own right.

Get there early for the best seats

We got there about an hour early, ordered drinks and appetizers, and settled in. The front-row seats go first, so arrive early if you want one.

If you're watching from the riverbank, aim to be there by 20:30. For a rooftop seat, give yourself more time than that. An hour before the show worked well for us.

After the show: Sơn Trà night market

When the show finished, we walked downstairs to the big Sơn Trà night market for more treats. It runs from about 18:00 to midnight, near the east end of the Dragon Bridge, with street food and stalls.

A few things to know:

  • It's really crowded, especially right after the show lets out.
  • Bring a portable fan if you're new to the heat. You'll be glad you did.
  • Bring cash. Street stalls and markets run on cash in Da Nang.

Getting a Grab home (the part nobody warns you about)

This is where we got caught out. When the show ends, everyone opens Grab at the same time. Pickups near the bridge and the market are slow, and we had to walk a long way before we got one.

What we'd do next time:

  • Walk a few blocks away from the market and the bridge before you book.
  • Book once you're clear of the crowd, not while you're still standing in it.
  • Pay cash or with a linked card. Grab shows the price before you book, so there's no haggling.
